I spent the last 5+ months designing this frame going through prototype after prototype to finally arrive at what the QAV500 looks like today and was published with pictures and videos at fpvmanuals.com and youtube on May 1st, 2012. The key innovation is to separate the frame into a dirty and clean section and to use and place vibration bobbins in the exact place they are. Could it be that Quad_Addict decided on the same overall frame shape, frame separation into dirty/clean parts, vibration bobbin use and placement, ESC placement, etc.? I deeply care about my work and while I'm flattered to be copied, it hurts financially when these copies are being sold publicly. I say again that when I needed to find a solution to keep the "dirty" section of the frame very low profile that milled aluminum became the most suitable choice. During my investigation into aluminum I did come across Quad_Addict's work which was helpful confirmation that milled aluminum does in-fact work as an arm choice while enabling a low profile (that's why the frame is not using carbon tubes and clamps). He is definitely an innovator when it comes to using milled aluminum arms for quadcopters. But he did not come up with this frame. This will be my only post here.

i love the new picture you took. :)

nothing on your frame did you invent or create. this so called dirty layer is nothing new in quad building not sure why you think you invented or started this,. the guys on the german forums been building with this idea for years.....
nothing on either frame your or mine can be patented. im just tired of you going around saying i copied you lol i been flying multirotors before you knew what one was.... if you listen to my video you would hear me say i have gotten ideas from others as well. so no im not the inventor of anythig, i did have ideas, i took my aluminum quad design spread it out the way everyone is making fpv frames these days, omg im so sorry i had to spread the arms out, because it would look silly spread out the other way.
you even said you came across stuff i did and was inspired. hmm

you are the same guy who thinks he invented a vibration dampener, Why would you want to. ( there already proven ones made exactly the same) and you even say you will charge more for them is it just because you made them? . saying they are hard to get is not true they are not. certain kind are hard to get, yours are not.

anyways please go back to your thread and cause trouble you had no reason to come here and start crap accusing me of copying you when i havnt said anything about your stuff since we agreed not to argue in that other thread. but here you are in here causing trouble. in case you didnt get the memo... this forum has a different purpose in mind for a community then your objective, your obviously business and just tryn to make money off these people. i make stuff and seell as cheap as i can to save them money. and even gave free frames away not even for testing.
so keep your "issues" out of here. i have not attacked or follow you around period.

for everyone else.
yes frames appear to look similar. so does chevy and ford
the schematics of the frames are different, side by side interchangeable parts, NONE will match!
there a thousands different quad designs all utilize the same objective, 4 motors extended out from a center hull.

he is saying i copied him this is a joke in itself. when i have been asked several times to make a fpv version of my iconic-x frame, there a gazillion fpv frames out that have the same principle in mind, layout with motors to allow a clear view for a camera.
he is just gonna have to except that he will have to compete with people out there just like sony does with Panasonic or Chevy does with ford, plain and simple, mark my words you will see other designs in close design as well not to mention the Chinese following like we always do. goodluckbuy is the mecca of it all.

In the end im not selling as a business, im selling because people come to me and ask me to make something to save them money and understand my work is worth the costs.
i dont go around claiming i invented anythign that has been done already forever.

but to say i copied a frame that was released IN PICTURES only 3 days before i posted a video and already had one in someones hands is a bit silly...

Haha, last week was a bad frame week. However I haven't managed to break the previous carbon fiber frame from QA.

I know this one is going traveling with James so I am hoping for a lot of cool video from his frame (if it survives long enough). A lot of CopterControl development and testing was done with an early frame from QA so this continues that tradition as well.

no surprise quad_addict doing shameless things. And here I was thinking you actually did something innovative.

buy the real thing http://www.fpvmanual...2/05/01/qav500/

There was innovation in that frame that was straight up copied. Its not just a shape that was copied but a quality well thought out design.

No shame...

Copying from the chinese is one thing, but blatently copying a design from another forum member the same week and announcing it like its yours should be a forum offense. He was banned from RCG for his egotistical nonsense and trolling.

About 12 months ago I was a beta tester for the Lotus T580 quad and during the Beta testing Lotus set up a Skype channel for all of the testers to discuss issues in. Back then QA sent me via Skype a couple of photos of his designs for quads that he had made. He had only just got his new CNC machine and while I no longer have those photos on my computer I clearly remember that those photos looked basically like the photos of designs he has recently posted on here.
My initial thought when seeing the FPVmanuals frame was how similar it looked to the frames QA had shown me close to a year ago.

If you take a look at the video on QA's blog on rcgroups you can see on the wall of his workshop a quad milled out of aluminium which already has the style of motor mounts that appear in the quad thats being disputed.
