OP Community board exchange (rescue boards)community rescue boards
Posted 13 June 2012 - 04:31 AM
I'll start a little reserve bank of boards. I'll make an official count so the community can track the number of boards I have. Just so that I don't go off and place these for the highest bid on fleabay.
One thing to be clear. The plan is not for everyone to buy from me. This is strictly for board to board exchange. You will need to cover the shipping and any parts repair charges if it's not related to actual OP deemed problem such as the gyro.
More details to come soon.

I don't have a board to give, but as I mentioned in the other thread I'm willing to help out. It looks like you have a pretty good pool of CopterControl boards started, but I'll cover the cost of a donor CC3D for the pool if the devs make one available. I have a feeling that when the wave of CC3Ds hit and everyone rushes out to play, I mean tune, that someone will need you services for a 3D pretty quickly. :-D

As far as contributing to the "Rescue Board" effort. Well, I do not intend to take and money member to buy the boards for stock. I would like members to contribute their unused( if not in use) to help other members that already own one but had a few mishaps. These boards are still owned by the original owners. When I say these board. The physical board might be different as I would sending out exchange board here and there. But you still have ownership of your board. It is not mine.
And if any of the boards that come in my garage which are no fixable, such torn traces and so forth, I don't think I can send an exchange for that as I will be holding boards that are deemed salvaged at that point. I will send the damaged board back to you.

Can you do ones from down under as well or just US?? I lost my quad on the weekend (still looking thought) so am grounded. But I still have my original board that I believed has a yaw gyro problem if you could fix it that would be great. So if yes then I'll ask the next lot of question like where to send it to and payment etc ... :-)

And yes. I should be able to help you with your board. Not a problem.
Payment. Hmm. Opening up a Swiss bank account as I type, just so that Dave and gang can't find me . Oh wait. Think that's too late now.

The exchange fee is pretty much what the cost of the parts needs to be replaced and postage is a flat $6.10 using the USPS priority tape box. But I am sure if I find a smaller box, it would be cheaper.

Just sent my board in for repair. In one of ActionPlus's earlier posts he said he wanted a quad for testing boards so I sent him an MQ-1 kit from Rusty's that I was no longer using.. I didn't have any arms to go with it so if anyone has any extra arms (12mm) they would like to donate for a Test Quad. I also have a suggestion, there should be a set exchange fee to cover Randy's parts bills and return postage, I don't have a clue as to what this should be. He probably knows about how much has been spent on each repair so far so let's let him say. And we should also remember that he is doing this for the community not a job and treat him accordingly. That's my 2 cents worth so I'll climb down off this soapbox. Thanks Randy - it's people like you that make this world a better place.
Got your board in. I'll take a look at it tonight give you an update.
And thanks for the frame. Actually got it put together. Had a few tubes on hand.

Oh, yes. This is not for the US only. This is for the whole OP community.
Not to put a dumper on this but will you not get into any problems then due to ITAR regulations.
