Not a lot of fluff with this one, is there? Looks very "utilitarian", economical, but appears like it'll get the job done! B)

I'll be interested to see how it flies for ya, and how it'll react in a crash. What are your expectations of it in that respect?

genius, you do not need anything more than some wood and g10. it should also be quite cheap to fabricate.

oe.. before i forget, wath does it weigh..frame only? should be as light as a feather.

Jack.... just another experiment of mine.I had some left over poplar and wanted to make a quad as simple and light as possible . It had to take 10/11/12 props not in the view of the gopro and use any battery I had. Sort of a test bed for motors and props. It is 550 mtm. As in the picture with juz motors, 1045 props, gopro and 2200 3s batt it weighs 1204g. The main stick is 3/4 x 1. I tried 1/2x1/2 to make it lighter but it had to much twist.I don't put a lot of time in designing it as crash worthy, but with simple wood frame it would be easy to fix. I am sure to find that out. I will maiden it this morning and post video.

@ jbkappirossi I weighed it with out motor mounts ,battery tray and cc-rx cover and it was a little over 200g. That is not bad being it is not a small quad. Length is 21 inches. The combination of wood booms and sorbothane washers for the gopro have been working out good for no jello.

Looking forward to that... You have my interest piqued... B)

I "crash tested" my KAF-Q500 a couple fo times this morning... A resounding success! Nothing broke, even after I slammed it into the side of my truck...

You should seriously think about scaling this design so it can be made into smaller versions... That'd be tits... :)

Yes it takes a lot to hurt the wood frames. Do you have any video of the KAF-Q500 in action?

Working on some, even as we speak. I gotta get some better video editing software, that's for sure. Windows Live Movie Maker is a PITA. Thinking about ordering the Sony Movie Studio Plat. 11 that Juz uses. It's only $25, and HAS to be better than what I'm using.
