I'm no marketing type.
I'm just tired of always needing adaptor boards and level shifters on my projects. My Mikrokopter ended up having more micro processors on adaptors than on useful components.

The PipX got a redesign recently which is why this got delayed a bit, I will post some photos within the next 2 weeks of the test versions, once these are confirmed and we do our own testing, these will then be sold to people that seriously want to help test them.

No idea about price until we start looking at serious production. However, I know price is important but the idea is to get this out to people that can do good things with it, not so much about just getting people things cheaper, we are getting enough heat from the commercial projects about the price of CC already and don't need that from the radio modem guys as well.

I really hope you guys can manage to deliver the PipXs sooner rather than latter ... the anticipation alone is killing me. Or then again It may be the XBees ...

There are some hold ups with this, basically we can't release them without a maintainer for the software and Pip is having a break from things. We are stretched to the limit with support for the CC, new features, fixing issues and trying to finish the Pro.
Buy the Xbees as we really don't need the stress of anyone anticipation. There is at least one testing cycle to go through with the PipX and without a maintainer of the software, there is no point doing this right now.

Dankers,
Please take my original post as a compliment and not a demand.
I've already have the Xbees and they are .... underwhelming
I like the concept behind PipX ... so I'll wait, no pressure there.
Keep up the good work!

Will the PipX models be able to support other FC platforms such as MultiWii or MegaPirates units?

Don;t worry, that is how I see it. Please don't view my post as hostile in anyway, just wanted to give an update on the reality of things. I know this thread states that they are coming soon, soon seems to have been a mistake.
We try so hard to not have people waiting on us, I screwed up with this thread.

That's a good thing as without Pip around it will be hard to keep the PipX moving forward along with everything else.
Yes the PipX will work with anything serial. Think Open Source version of the XBee that does not need any carrier boards and has better range.
The hard part about the PipX is it is RF, this is very specialised and there are a bunch of nasty traps we need to watch out for. I am researching this as much as I can but bear in mind Pip has a huge amount of experience in this area and we are more than a bit lost without her.

What we need to do now is make sure that alternative setups are well documented in the wiki so that users can access them as easily as possible.
