And here is my Quad:

Self build frame, kda 2020l, props 10x4.5 slowfly, hobbyking ss15 esc. 680gr without battery.

It uses a self built CopterControl board.
here is how it is attached(the frame was built for the classic 45mm spaced boards so I used one adapter plate but I'll modify the frame soon):

Tomorrow I'll try how it flies :)
(the other cc board I'm assembling will fly on a delta wing instead...)

Very very cool, that's the first self built CC I have seen, impressed to say the least. Well done!

I spent a bit of time to ensure that was easy as possible to do (yeah it still a bit of work to say the least) but I hope the assembly sheets and the detailed BOM helped you out?

Thanks you :)
BOM and assembly plans was a very precious help. The only problems I had were with the pad for SC70 that are a little small to hand mounts them. Both xor and or gate had a unsoldered pin but with the help of an oscilloscope I managed to track the problem down(a problem with serial that didn't let me able to burn bootloader and missing data from the accelerometer).
You all have done a very good job!!! it's a little marvelous piece of art :)
Today I should be able to fly. I'll post a video if there is someone that can shot it at the field :)

Thanks you very much for your work guys, I hope to be able to start helping soon!!!

I to like the wire mesh for the cabling, I will need to pick some of that up :), makes for a very clean build. The Y-6 looks good, Looking forward to seeing some flights with it. I left the front little shelf like my larger Y-y frame so people can use a camera on it for FPV either on top or just mount one slung on the bottom.

Joe
Thanks,
Joe

Joe

That's exactly what I plan to do with that little shelf, I think it's great!

For the braiding, I use TECHFLEX, you can find it on EBAY as well. If you're careful then you can actually bring it in the servo's all the way up to the connector like I did on my 500 Heli.

Hi Guys

Here is my Home Built Tricopter with CC board.
roughly 800mm motor to motor
10mm carbon square tube arms
Motors are
ESC are 25amp Turnigy Plush
Props are 10x4.5
Flight time 6:30
Battery 3s 2200

I only have 2 flights on it so far and they were both awesome!
I love it, perfect for my needs on stock PID settings.
I plan on getting into FPV this super smooth and stable setup will be perfect.
I gave up trying to tune my MultiWii boards

Can I have a Medal please? :)

Ive never had a medal before :(

Cheers

Ben

Nice simple build, Make sure to tape up or shrink wrap those loose 5v wires from the ESC's, you dont want them to touch the board or anything.
Thanks,
Joe

Hey Joe

Thanks for the comments

Those red wires are already heat shunk

I had just finished reprogramming the esc's removed the red wires from the connectors and forgot to shrink them again.

I am happy with my frame but it is a little heavy at 1.45Kg

I used double hollow carbon square tube for the arms so i could hide all the wiring to keep it neat. Although single arms would be more than strong enough and i could have saved some weight.
now i am happy with it i will also shorten the esc signal wires so they are also nice and neat.

I know you build your own frames but would you cut some, one off, pieces for a new frame would like to do?

cheers

Ben

Good job Ben. It looks like the motor shafts are a little long. If you cut them down they will be less likely to bend in a crash.

Kirk
PS. Put the next one on a diet. :D
