Hello everyone!

I finally have a Quadcopter!  It is not quite finished (I still need to put on a protective cover, setup FPV, etc) but it flies great and I needed to share!  Before this I had only flown (helicopter wise) a Blade MCX and MSR and I find the Quad just as easy to fly (though the helis were great practice). Thank you Dankers for sending me a board to get me started!

Here is a pick at the start of the project:

And here is a pic in (early) flying condition!

Thanks again and also for the Medal Dankers!  Here are two more pics of the power distribution board.  I think they make the wiring look slick and take away the mess.  I haven't seen many pics of how people set them up so I hope it is of interest!

Looks good!  Looks like a DiaLFonZo QuadMini, which is a great mini frame.

This is my Quad FPV machine, well over a hundred flights at this point.
OP CC controller,  BlueSkyrC Spider Quad Frame, 1200 kv suppo motors and 8x4.5 props.
5.4 GHZ 500mw downlink transmitter and a GoPro Hero camera.
That's an EagleTree GPS unit on top and on the bottom side there's an OSD pro and a V4 DataLogger.
Flight times about 5 minutes with a 2650 ma.hr 3s LIPO.

Can't believe I've never posted here I've had so much luck with OP on my various platforms. All Openpilot Powered and flown. I set up the mounts So I can easily move them as desired. Move the motors and whatnot too. So I have a pile of frames lol.

Sorry for reposting this, I did a nickname change the complicated way. So, again, the third version of my CC quad: plywood base, aluminium arms, box on top for the electronics and one at the bottom for the lipo. Quite heavy, but sturdy and good for landing in wet grass.

Besides, meanwhile I have proof it will fly:

Still have quite a bit to do as I am planning to use this quad for FPV...add eLogger, OSD, FPV camera, Tx, HD camera, etc.

But, it's in the air and flies reliably. Let me know if you see anything in the video that I may be able to address through better tuning.

Build details: Hoverthings HT-FPV frame, Avroto 770 kV motors, MayTech 30A ESCs. Presently I am using GemFan 11x4.7 carbon-filled props which seem to be working well.

My previous experience is with the Quadrino MultiWii on Hoverthings quad frames, so I'm still learning how to tune the OPCC.

Tuning details progression (yellow indicates a change). I plan to fly in attitude mode.

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance.

Best regards,
John

Hi

So here's my stab at making CopterControl and OP look good

It's running: mystery 12A ESCs, 2400kv motors, 8x4 props and a 2200mAh 3s LiPO.

The frame it self is my design, made from some plywood, aluminium arms and some nuts and bolts.

It survived some bad crashes and had most of its components replaced, but it doesn't realy show and still flies great B)
