hmm, the idea with the OSD is that it's just a device meant to relay information to you, primarely by video and second by audio. So, as the plans I'm aware, the OSD will not control any features on the primary control board (CopterControl or Revo).
OSD will of course have input from the TX, but that is to be able to switch between views on the screen etc. But see the OSD as an information device, not a control device.

It is possible that the additional processing power of the OP OSD will allow a multi headed version of the software to offer the RTH function as discussed in this thread:
