Where I circle the "Receiver connected" is when I actually connect the receiver, ie is says connected when it is not
I have tried another receiver with same result.

there are two versions of the firmware presently ... one does PWM, Spektrum etc and the other ONLY does PPM. You can select PWM in the PPM version but the selection does nothing. You must download and install the PWM version of the firmware.
go here

just do NOT download the PPM version

I have reloaded firmware which is imbedded in GCS
I have tried the spektrum receiver AR7000
I have even tried an old JR F500 36Mhz set
have tried PWM and PPM although my transmitter seems to only connect with PPM(JR X-3810 with Spektrum module)
It always comes up RC receiver not connected or invalid input configuration (missing channels)
I have tested the receiver with a servo to check that is is connected and it is.
Am I connecting the receiver input to the CC board wrong. (power and signal wire((white, black, red)) to throttle,blue-aile, yellow-elev, green-rudd, orange-gear)

This morning Thursday the 10th I awoke to win 7 Ultimate update and now the GCS will not load i end up with this message:
openpilotgcs.exe has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
FYI i have uninstalled CGS and reinstalled with the same result.......... any help here will be greatly appreciated....

Mine lives here:
C:\Users\David\AppData\Roaming\OpenPilot
Just delete that entire dir and start the GCS, it should tell you your settings are missing and then start normally.

It was something else. Lol.
Hard not to get frustrated with the 'Open Source' delivery times:
"Postage to Australia seems high, if i use a cheaper postal option it can take 10-20 days, and i get too many complaints after the first 8 days - so expensive shipping is the only option"
I don't think mine has even been posted yet. I don't have tracking information, and I don't think I am allowed to complain or there will be a 'no soup for you (me)' situation.
So this is not a complaint. Just a -sigh- ...
