Im thinking of using 4-5" propellers with this micro frame, do you think If I use 2cell lipo (2200mah) it will be to heavy if I will use this Turnigy 1811 Brushless Motor 2000kv?

2200 is a pretty big lipo for a non quad, plus if your planning to use FPV gear on it as well unless you go with the mini 5.8 fpv gear.

Just got my new motors (A1510 -KV2200) and they look nice. Below is a picture with the HK 18-11 2000.

The difference in weight is only 6 grams. The HK 18-11 are problematic where the motor mounts could easily come loose and the hex keys could eventually strip after a crash or adjustments.

The other picture is my home made frame, 180g total weight. I have crashed a few times and broken several props.

Just need to make several more tuning adjustments, but it fly.

This gonna be tricky finding a lightweight motor but lots of thrust. Thanks for that link. Lots of cheap stuff for quads.

I'm waiting for my A1510s, I was curious how much they actually weigh.  6g more isn't too bad for a more substantial motor.  The sales stuff said 26g but I figured that was probably for shipping calculations.  Maybe I'll remove the RX case and pins like c2Po did.

I really like this quad. I have a very similar configuration as the first person in this thread. The main difference is the props and the esc. I have ordered in some 3 bladed but am still running the cheap HobbyKing 2 bladed, just takes time to balance them. Also I am running the Turnigy instead.

The biggest issue has been the motors not all of the motors produce equal power. I have ordered in 4 more motors and am going to try them.
Looks nice, thanks for sharing!
Yeah, those motors are not the of best quality for sure...

Another question, has anyone ran a micro on 3s?

You're kidding, right? :)
I'm using 2200mAh on a Gaui 330X and still think it's heavy for it, but on a mini quad... the whole quad weighs less than this battery.

It would depend on the motors - kv and max amps.
With those that most people use the rpm will be too high and you would need much smaller props, I guess maybe something like 4 x 2.5 or even less.
Don't know if that would make sense, 2S seems to be a perfect fit so far.

Yes, that 26g listed on the site looks suspicious for such a small motor.

So it looks like they are around 16g? Not bad, thanks.

Gotcha, Im just being lazy since I screwed up and bought a 1000mAh 3S for my nanos, when I should have bought 2S, No biggie, thanks!

Well, it seems overkill for a mini. Im thinking to use my old 2S lipo thats why :P If only I could find a higher thrust motors but less weight. I might have to use lesser mAH lipo if the 2S 2200 are too heavy.

I think it would be easier to use a smaller lipo.  It is going to be hard to get the thrust of a large quad on a nano size setup where weight becomes a critical issue.

Why would you want a higher thrust? Even with those motors it should be around three times more than a quad weight (well, that is if you try to keep the weight down, not up... :D )

AlPackin,
C2PO,

The (A1510 -KV2200) I received have the correct prop mounts for the GWS 3x5 props. No need to drill the props holes to 4mm.

This was stated in a different thread.
