Waiting for a CC?

Update 1st January 2012:
Guys, all the invitational products have now gone, more CCs will be available as soon as we can and when I have a better idea of timescales, I'll keep everyone informed via the forums. Thanks to the community for suggesting this idea as it has enabled those who have been waiting a while to get access to the hardware.
Update 29th December 2011:
All requests for invitational product access made through the store have been responded to, if you were granted access and the Invitational CopterControls were out of stock, please look again soon. If you have responded to this thread but have not yet followed these instructions, please do so quickly if you still wish to get a board. There are just a handful left.
What you need to do:
- If you haven't already, sign-up to store here: http://store.openpil.../authentication.
- Use the contact us form here http://store.openpilot.org/contact-us and send us a note asking to be added toview the Invitational products. You must include your Forum Login name in the message so we can match this to the thread.
- Once we review the messages (please give us some time to go through these), you'll get a message back from the store and you'll have access to the Invitational product category which contains just one product, the CopterControl Invitational.
- If you want a CopterControl, please add the item marked as Invitational to your basket. (The CopterControl product in the Hardware category will remain out of stock). You may of course order any other regular product as part of this order. However, due to the large response in this thread, there is a limit of one CopterControl per customer. Those who order more than one will have their purchases refunded in full, you have been warned!
Just a word about our shipping: Aussie orders are dispatched via Australian Post, and overseas orders are shipped via FedEx International Priority. FedEx is not the cheapest service but considering it can deliver to most places in the world in 3-4 days, I believe it's good value (traceable Australian Post International services cost more and take longer). OpenPilot of course does not add any mark-up to the shipping cost, what you pay is what we pay (the price is calculated via FedEx at the time of checkout and is based on your location).
All boards will be shipped after the New Year on the 3rd January.
I hope this goes some way to assist those people have been waiting for a board for a while, OpenPilot relies solely on it's community for further development and support and we hope the guys who become new CopterControl owners stick around and get involved to make OpenPilot even better!

You're a good guy. I've already got my two. Hope everyone else gets theirs. I realize that you're shooting for maybe 500/mo, when everything smooths out, and the parts are good. Shouldn't be a problem with getting one then.

So, I'm definitely interested in the board though perhaps not high on the priority list as a lurker who didn't contribute anything. Would be awesome if next batches are great and can be distributed broadly and efficiently. I'll keep watching the Production Status page for updates.

I've been following OP for a while but never had a chance to actually own a CC. I left an email notification at the old OP store more than a year ago but never received any notification when it is available. Could you put my name on your list please. Thank you David.

Have pretty much assembled the rest of the electronics, can I put my name down please?
Otherwise, what's the fastest way to find out when they're on sale?
Thanks,
John
Edit (extra info added):
Haven't posted anywhere prior to this entry - pretty much because I haven't had a multi copter in the air to ask questions about.
Have been lurking about here and other forums for months, trying to get an idea re. the best plan.
Being a complete newbie, I'm a bit reserved about asking questions anyway - as there's lots of info to already digest, before bothering the experts by asking the same things over and over again.
My ultimate dream would be to get some University robotics people who a mutual friend has worked with involved in our archaeology project - to develop mapping and aerial remote sensing apps from in the air for our site ( a buried 2500 year-old citadel). Hoping that if I can build and learn to fly a multicopter, the next step would be to demonstrate it to the right University robotics & archaeology people, to spark their interest in aerial apps for our project.
What people are doing with FPV is also amazing. Would love to try and gain enough experience to fly around monasteries and Medieval castles for slow mo, doco-style footage when in Greece again for the dig in July.
Links to web sites re. our (non-profit) archaeology projects are listed in my profile.

A very generous gesture and sums up the the thinking behind the project,
I've missed out on previous releases (just not quick enough) and have used
a HK controller on my quad with reasonable results. I would certainly like to
go on your list and try the CC. By the way way I have just purchased a
Bluetooth board from the new OP store and will match it up to the CC board.
Cheers,
Monty

After playing with multiple boards and waiting (as alone I could not do too much beyond playing with multiple threads on a STM32 board) to see some serious software development (as it seems that hardware is way ahead
