Thanks for the comments.  I'm actually a bit (pleasantly) surprised that people are getting them this quickly during the holidays.  I've seen a number of priority mail packages taking 4-5 days to deliver in the last couple weeks.  The post office is definitely not a good place to be this time of year :o

Cheers,
Rusty

Rusty -- Anticipating that there may be more boards available in the next few weeks.  (optimist?)  I'd like to ask -- in addition to the controller board -- what else is NEEDED to effectively set up and tune the board?  What else might I WANT (if I knew enough)?    I'd like to order what I need/want the first time and not hold up the project once I finally have the board for an accessory that I overlooked.

I see a number of announced items that are not available, and modules and such.  Basically I'd like to set my quad up to fly itself, so I can concentrate on photography -- well... that's an overstatement -- but you get my point.

I'm afraid we're looking at more than a few weeks for the next CC boards.  You've heard of all the gyro problems, which are being caused by bad components received from the manufacturer.  At this point, the only way for OP to change the quality of chips they receive is to change to a different gyro sensor, from a different manufacturer.  There are already new versions being tested, but the process will take some time I'm afraid.

From your last statement, it sounds like you're needing some autonomous control, such as GPS hold.  If that's the case, CC won't give you that.  The Revolution board would be the way to go, but it's much farther out than the redesigned CC will be.

Wow, perfect answer, can I steal that for in the future?

So sorry Scott, I know it not what you wanted to hear, it for sure not what Rusty wanted to type either.

It's all good.  I'm going to fly Open Pilot.  Sooner or later -- but sooner is happier.   :)   I'll learn the ropes of quad piloting with a cheap alternative (not really an alternative - but it's what's available and supposedly uses PI tuning) -- so when I become an OP Pilot I'll spend more time in the air than on the ground.  In the meantime I'm pleased to be a member of this community.

Hey -- is there any chance that the OpenPilot logo could be made available for download so my planks could be adorned with it?  B)

Already is, it is in our source code repo under Artwork, but I know that is not for everyone to use, git (the tool) has a learning curve.

This is a direct link to the Logo file that I hope works: http://git.openpilot...nPilot Logo.zip

I plan on slapping a few homeade openpilot stickers on my quad and hat while flying.
