Well, still waiting on stock (last track and trace info was 15th Dec in the Melbourne bulk mail facility) so......

I think I will list the boards (if they have turned up) on boxing day, as usual will send out an email beforehand, and when they go up, but check the store at lunch time, should have them packed up and posted by the 30th

I like the sound of a "boxing day" sale, heck all the retail stores do :)

wow, I would like to see that on my door step!

List those puppies! I don't need another at the moment, but I'll tell my mate who would like a board for his FPV quad build.
He's going to be my FPV wingman....woo hoo...he has a steep learning curve ahead, but a coptercontrol board will definitely help expedite the process :)

Just got my CC board and trying to figure it all out.  I'm planning to use my Futaba 8 Transmitter which is PPM. When I try to download the GCS software, my computer won't recognise the opfw file extension.  How do I fix this?

Hi There

The OPFW file is the firmware. You don't want this file, you want the GCS installer.

Install it and then start that up and then flash the firmware by using the rescue button on the firmware tab. You will probably need to flash the board to 20110819 if you've downloaded the latest GCS.
If you are doing firmware, you don't need to connect the GCS to the board, it will do that automatically (hit rescue and follow the prompts).
Once it detects the board, choose open and then flash, then reboot the board.
Once you have upgraded the firmware, you can connect in the bottom right corner (via USB) to do your other settings like input, frame shape etc.

You probably want the PWM firmware though, if you're connecting all of the coloured cables between your receiver and the OP board, then this is definitely PWM. The Transmitter=>Receiver link is possibly PPM.
This is a common mistake, you would only use PPM firmware if you have a single cable from your receiver to openpilot.

:) an afternoon well spent!

Guys this isn't the best place to post questions, as only other kiwis and aussis look in this thread, post setup stuff in the multirotor users subform :) just want to make sure you get good support

Hi Mat,

I've had a good stable flight but had a motor failure so am stalled at the moment.  The PPM/PWM certainly had me foxed for a while.  I'm trying to write a set of starter instructions based on the video and my experience of working my way through.  I'll send it to you when I'm done a bit more to see what you think. I'm happy to take Peter's board and will see if it is OK when I hook it up.

Cheers,

Jonathan

Thanks Jonathan, and looking forward to the video :)

Yea, in RC transmitters,PPM is the signal they send to the reciever over the air, PWM is what the reciever sticks out on the individual channels
