Hi,

after drawing my first frame i forgot to integrate a Gopro also i found the 10x10mm aluminium arms will do a better job on strength.

My new drawings on the FPV-Gopro frame will fit up to 11" props
I might give it a go in the near future.
What do you guys think about the layout? All comments welcome ...
also if you find mistakes in construction ... let me know

feels like a very stiff frame.... have no 10" props here thats why a placed the 11" ones... but will go with 10" in future

just came back from some online shopping :)

edit: 13.02.2012
i decided now to go with different ESC´s
i just ordered the T-Motor 18Amp ESC (

there are 15 songs can be selected

:P looking forward for these songs)

also i got 9" props... to see how they perform

edit: 14.02.2012

not sure... if i was lucky enough...
but this morning they where some RapidESC in stock over here
so i´ll see if they ship over my place... because after checking out they all where gone..

edit: 22.02.2012
going to the tax-office... HK box arrived :)

edit: 28.02.2012
finally the RapidESC arrived :)
so i couldn't wait anymore to put everything together
i´ll test 10" and 9" props as soon the rain is gone.. maybe saturday

weight is around 700g (no lipo no gopro)

i think there is still enough room for FPV gear...

but after putting everything together ... it will take some time to replace arms after crashing... because i used the power distribution board

dacat, have you checked out the hoverthings thread on RCG?  Tom there is releasing some center plates for his VC450 that are shaped pretty much like what you have.  might be a good option.

yeah that looks nice ... and  I have some 750kv motors and 30A Plush that need a home too.  That reminds me that I haven't flown my VC20-450 in a while now.

nice design dacat.

I think this this type of layout is perfect for FPV quads for sure.

Tom at Hoverthings just shipped an FPV frame to me yesterday. Can't wait to test it out for him :)

I like it.

I've been working on this prototype. If anyone with sketchip skills wants to help on the design, let me know.

The motor arms are separated from the other parts with sorbothane grommets.

what specifically do you need help with, I have spent a fair bit of time with sketchup as well as just about every other 3d modelling application.

Oh, I don't know but any suggestions are welcome. I have a 3D printer on it's way and I was hoping to be able to print out most of the plastic parts.  I'm currently working on a 1 axis geared gimbal so that the camera can look straight downward but that's going slow. I still haven't gotten that one great idea yet. If you are interested in taking a look, PM me your email address and I send you the file.

If it works out, I'll put the files on the wiki so other people can build one.

getting well off topic but i don't know how well sketchup will work with 3D printing, .stl files from sketchup are typically pretty poor. i do recall an exporter but if memory serves it wasn't free...

what were your plans for producing the .stl files?

There is an STL export plugin available. I have no idea how good it is. I've been looking into 123D but I can't figure out if it is really going to be free.
