I'm just going to leave this here.  Very first test (well first I skyped Dave in to show, then I started recording) so less than 5 minutes of tuning.  It will get much better but thought you guys would like to see the progress.

Great achievement! The OpenPilot team really rocks.
I can hardly wait to see the future vids. The Revo is going to be so awesome!

That's just baro.  No sensor fusion or anything yet - just wanted to start simple for that bit.  Less assumptions to check when the damn thing is in charge of the spinny bits ;)

GPS wouldn't work that well indoors. It's possible to get basic GPS receiption if there are windows nearby but the signal would not be good enough to do altitude hold like this.

Does that mean you have altitude hold working on the Revo?  I was just looking at the altitude module last night, and starting to hook up a baro and sonar to a CC to see how it works, at least for logging altitude.

It looks like the sonar driver needs some updating, and I was going to see what I could do there.

Well it hit the roof that one time but some of the time it was working.  I need to do a few more repeats and get some data to try and tune it up more accurately but I think the control structure won't have to change much.

@Ronnie B: yes this definitely isn't the optimal setup for doing it.  I also need to add some foam over the pressure sensor.  However my general approach is to get it to perform well while I do everything shitty-ly and it should work for most users :)

So you were able to fly inside with just the baro?  That's great!

I suggested a couple of weeks ago that I needed a sonor on the top to keep off the ceiling!

Is altitude hold supported on the CC yet?  If not, do you think it will be able to be supported?

I may be imagining it, but it seems like there's some sort of "ceiling effect" that tends to hold the quad on the ceiling...

Just want to say, I hope you guys get how things work with OP, finish draft of code and upload video. We do this a lot along with all the stuff that goes wrong, this way you see the evolution of the platform and it's loads of fun.

As a module it could be possible, there was mag / baro board for the CC at one point for the Flexi port but nothing came of it.
