Thoughts on snubbers? Good, bad, un-needed, case specific?
Have you smoked something because you did not have snubbers?
I swear that I try not to be, but I will eventually come across the same as my name! Just let me know.

I've only smoked them with bad code and i don't have anything other than caps to suppress spikes.

Which snubber configuration were you using?

Well, I had originally planned on making a larger ESC, but since I am making an integrated system I'll start small!

Now I need to remember where I found the motors and build a thrust testbed. Being smaller, it makes building snubbers more difficult as the losses become significant.

Within the realm of very small and usable motors, does 2C seem reasonable? Not a huge issue on the input side but might result in a lot of extra heat that has to be dealt with?

You are right, that is a valid question and shows I need a nap soon.
I did mean 2S, the batteries I have handy are either 35C or 40C, so Ill work with them.

Hmm to wind my own motors or not ...

And my new favorite device tonight is: NUP1301 a single line rail-to-rail ESD protection array, good for 80V and 30KV ESD! Protecting those ESC control lines from shorts.

Musing a current sensor, would it possibly prevent self destruction?

Few more components down, almost looks like a real schematic. Always annoying specifying parts and matching them.

Well, the 4Mbit flash is EOL. Push it to 64Mbit.

If I were to stack pagoda style I could increase the RFI shielding. Issue is dealing with the capacitance ... Might make it structurally stronger though ... hmm
