...After reading everything I could find here, and confusing/unconfusing myself several times, I'm happy to report that (1) my BT connection works, first try, and (2) it was much simpler than I expected.  I didn't need the Windows VCP driver, I didn't need the USB/Serial converter firmware, I didn't have to make any changes... I just wired the 4-pin JST SH connector to the BT serial adapter, plugged it in, and it worked.  The main reason it was unexpectedly easy is because the BT serial adapters from BlueSkyRC.com come pre-configured for 115200 baud.  I just started up GCS, connected via USB cable, set GCS's baud rate to 115200, shut it down, disconnected the USB cable, plugged in the onboard BT adapter, plugged a USB dongle into my PC's USB port, powered up the CC, started GCS, selected COM6, clicked Connect... and it worked.   :P

Just got the bluetooth serial adapters from BlueSkyRC.com
Once I get home I'll connect it using a 4-pin JST SH connector to the CC and hopefully it will work (fingers crossed)
I dont have a 4-pin JST SH connector, so I will recylce the one that came with the Copter Control (I never figured out what it was for  )
