I like how that frame looks. Could you post a build and links to the parts? I think I want to set up a longer range rig and my Zagi is already all covered.

Anyone can buy the parts, its the layout that matters. I really does matter more than you think, the RF is a huge issue on a UAV in comparison to an FPV airframe (there are 6 antennas on mine). Its the second one I have built and the layout is still not quite right and I spent a heap of time reading and then building before coming here. I actually ruined a Zephyr airframe trying to work out an optimum layout before coming. The Revo and its mags and part serviceability is difficult in the default FPV layout or any layout I could find on the web, let alone the covering problems, wiring, RF, power distribution, range testing and CG.

I am going to do an optimum OP layout on the next build. Since I purchased 3 Zephyrs for this trip and they take so long to build, I ran out of time to build more. I am shipping the remaining two back home and will document the build in the wiki.

Update on the Zephyr autonomous flight. The control algorithms are not quite right for a flying wing, they work well on a self stabilising airframe but on something that goes where you point it they are not optimal, it looses too much altitude in a tight turn. Corvus and the Prof are working out the changes now and there is a hope that it will be finished by the morning. Essentially pitch and roll need to be more tightly coupled for turns.

The airfoil is pretty thin (lots of gear to fit) but it might be possible. The zephyr weighs in at around 2.3kg with all the gear, so they are not really comparable.

Thanks. Maybe I will check and see what I can fit in it.
Maybe just a Frsky rx, small fpv cam and vtx. I am pretty sure it will not be able to handle a gopro Need to see what size motor I will need to carry these things.

this is a little OT but how hard would it be to combine ALL the Tx and Rx units in to one that way they wouldn't fight with each other?

just asking

The man to ask that is IBCrazy either on FPVLab or on RCGroups.

I love to see the videos and i do hope you guys have a great time in .pt!
I was planning to be there a couple of days during the non-dev time, but
i am at the hospital instead with my newborn daughter :) <3

About the ZephyrII i talked to Chris Klick on skype ( skype nick: ritewing )
he is very friendly and helpfull and from what i can see the ZephyrII is the
ultimate fpv plattform (if not counting my Trex 500 :)
Give him a call and ask about it, i will get two soon :)
