Never had a problem with batteries.
I even carried my complete setup as carry-on luggage several times - I'm talking about one hex, one quad, several sets of batteries, spare props, gopro, various tools, wires, spare parts etc... The security people are simply not trained to flag such equipment, and each time they were almost grateful I explained this was just photography equipment - which it is to a certain degree. What really did the trick was that each time I took a really eager geeky attitude and start explaining what the various bits were for, which promptly led the security person to nicely ask me to shut up and move along ;-)
Regulations do speak about a certain amount of lithium in batteries and how much is allowed, but since no one is able to check or even understand what this is about, those regulations cannot really be enforced. As berkely above mentions, exercise your own caution and common sense, make sure the batteries are well packed and cannot short etc.

In Topic: Apply and Save buttons --- what's the difference?
27 December 2011 - 11:57 AM
Those buttons used to be called "Save to RAM" and "Save to SD" or "Save to Flash", but it looked like people got even more lost with the concept of RAM and Flash, so we now use "Apply" and "Save", like settings dialogs do for 99% of GUI applications around in the Windows (and Mac/Linux ?) world... You also have tooltips almost everywhere if you keep your mouse still for half a second over a button, but again, it looks like most people just move their pointer around all the time and never see those. Hard to please everyone!
At the end of the day, just use whatever works out best for you, I'd say that's the right approach ;-)

Woo Hoo!! That is fantastic! One thing I noticed is the PFD is far more accurate than on most autopilots I have seen, it really reflects the horizon very well, others are off quite a bit and also tend to have bad lag. Really impressive.
Lots of hard work went into it
Corvus, what do you used to capture video on your (Linux) box ? Was is an onboard cam, or with a TX+RX and video capture card on your PC ?
Congratulations, by the way!

I tried running the GCS software and it crashed everytime on startup.
I disconnected my Wacom tablet and finally got it to run.

That's interesting: what are the PID/VID of the tablet? I suppose it is a HID device too, but that should not be a problem. It may be that the GCS think it is speaking to a CopterControl board somehow - though we have proper PID/VIDs for the CC, so no reason why theyre should be a collision. Let me know, it's probably easy to fix

Impressive! Thanks for sharing the PID settings: did you have those when the prop broke ?
